Structural Design

Design & drafting of new Perth Stadium boardwalk

Mechsafe was engaged to design the BHP Billiton boardwalk at the new Perth Stadium, including the western concourse balustrade. This ‘turn-key’ design project involved 3D modelling and structural development of the initial architectural concepts, FEA, production of a bill of materials, specifications and detailed fabrication drawings. The drafting component of the project was carried out using 3D laser scanned survey data of the site, which included differential settlement of the existing works. The total length of the boardwalk is around 350 m.

Design of structures and cranes

Mechsafe has carried out the design of various industrial structures to AS 4100 and cranes to AS 1418. The work involved a combination of 3D modelling, FEA and structural calculations using proprietary software following the methodology in the codes.
